DVD releases

We're still in the doldrums for new, nude releases on DVD and Blu-ray, but this week things are looking up as the NC-17 '70s shocker 1900 (1976) hits Blu-ray with Stefania Casini's SKINfamous double handy scene with Gerard Depardieu and Robert DeNiro. Speaking of the '70s, the Walking Tall Trilogy also hits Blu-ray this week, featuring drive-in skin in Walking Tall (1973) and Walking Tall, Part 2 (1975). And if butch middle-aged Irishwomen flashing their jugs is your thing, you'll be handling your Nobbs as Albert Nobbs (2011) hits DVD and Blu-ray.

Plus, unzip your Levi's and prepare to fire your six-shooter as the XXX classic Debbie Does Dallas (1978) gets a deluxe DVD release.

We're a dollar late and a day short- or is it a day late and a dollar short? Anyway, there's not much to see in mainstream releases this week on DVD and Blu-ray, but we do have some interesting SKINtage titles to tell you about: First, feast on Euro-eyefuls Laura Gemser and more in the giallo thriller Murder Obsession (1980) nude on Blu-ray. And stay in that wayback machine for the sex comedy Naughty Teen (1977), nudely re-released on DVD, and the beautiful Blu-ray Blaxploitation rack of Marlene Clark in Ganja & Hess (1973). Then, modern-day purveyors of cinematic cheese The Asylum keep the skinematic tradition alive with 2-Headed Shark Attack (2012), already nude on Blu-ray but now also on DVD.

Plus, take in over 3 1/2 hours of blood, boobs and brawlin' babes as the exploitation compilation 42nd Street Forever hits Blu-ray with trailers for skinema classics like The Pom Pom Girls, Maid in Sweden, Chained Heat and more.

The pickings are pretty slim this week, but we do have a few rare birds spreading their wings on DVD and Blu-ray: first, a sweet hint of skin from Andrea Riseborough and Abbie Cornish (or her body double, anyway) in W.E. (2011); then SKINtage sex symbol Dolores Del Rio shows off her seat meat for a rare pre-Code nude scene in Bird of Paradise (1932), and Nora Alexis makes a sleazier sort of history in "Godfather of Gore" Herschell Gordon Lewis's final film before his 2002 comeback, The Gore Gore Girls (1972), nude on Blu-ray.

Plus, prepare to beat yourself senseless as sexy pugilist Gina Carano kicks ass in a skintight black outfit in Haywire (2012), not nude but highly punchable on Blu-ray.

We've got a right proper crop of British beauties getting their kits off (that's "naked" to us Yanks) this week on DVD and Blu-ray: First, a blonde by the extremely British name of Honeysuckle Weeks seduces an eager young missionary in the horror-comedy The Wicker Tree (2011). Then, English rose Jessica Brown Findlay flashes a pair of IDs in the indie drama Albatross (2011). After that, British style icon Marianne Faithfull keeps the faith by showing skin in the groovy '60s flick Girl on a Motorcycle (1968), and finally UK sexploitation star (and former fling of Prince Andrew) Koo Stark is put through her paces in the Marquis de Sade adaptation Justine (1977).

Also nude on Blu-ray, the Italians see your Justine and raise you one Killer Nun (1978), starring Anita Ekberg as the titular sister and the densely-thicketed Paola Morra as her frequently nude prey.

We're knee-deep in celebrity skin and we're not ashamed to admit it this week on DVD and Blu-ray: First, the SKINstant classic sex-addiction drama Shame (2011) hits Blu-ray for some HD FFN from Carey Mulligan and oh so many more. Also nude on Blu-ray, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air princess Nia Long shows her crown jewels in In Too Deep (1999), and nude on DVD, Vera Farmiga and Keisha Castle-Hughes (yup, the girl from Whale Rider) bare historical hootage in A Heavenly Vintage (aka The Vintner's Luck) (2009).

Also nude on DVD, the doctor is skin as Roger Corman's Cult Classics presents The Nurses Collection, bringing you sexual healing in the form of drive-in classics Candy Stripe Nurses (1974), Night Call Nurses (1972), The Young Nurses (1973), and Private Duty Nurses (1971).

You don't want to sleep on this week's nude releases on DVD and Blu-ray, including Emily Browning's Hall of Fame nude debut in Sleeping Beauty (2011) and the sexplotation double feature of Ryoko Watanabe all tied up as a housewife with an S&M secret in Debauchery (1983) and Hitomi Kozue as the titular woman in True Story of a Woman Condemned: Sex Hell (1975).

Plus, we go back (way back) to the well for two rather unexpected nude Blu-ray releases, The Boy in Blue (1986) and Don Juan DeMarco (1995).

We're taking bets this week on DVD and Blu-ray: First, odds are you'll get to see Madonna's crown jewels as Madonna: Truth or Dare (1991) gets the HD treatment. Also nude on Blu-ray, Faye Dunaway opens the floodgates to nudity in the neo-noir Chinatown (1974), and Lynn Collins shows off her heavenly peaks in the drama Angels Crest (2011), nude on DVD and Blu-ray.

And on the SKINternational front, Russian stunner Kseniya Rappoport goes for broke with a rare bush-only nude scene in the Italian drama The Double Hour (2009).
