DVD releases

Some nude scenes are worth revisiting, like the remake of The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981), which hits Blu-ray this week. The skintage classic features the fantastic funbags and fur of top-heavy temptress Jessica Lange, plus a rare pokie peek from Anjelica Huston.

Also releasing is the French drama A Burning Hot Summer (2011) which includes the bountiful bonbons of the magnificent Monica Bellucci, and French fox Alexia Landeau lets a nipple slipple while doing yoga in 2 Days in New York (2012).

The Mark Wahlberg produced series Entourage was known for its con-skin-stent nudity over eight seasons, including a menage-a-trois with Canadian cutie Emmanuelle Chriqui and topless Swedish skinsation Malin Akerman. The complete series hits Blu-ray this week so you can enjoy that scintillating scene in high def, plus full frontal from the one-and-only Sasha Grey, and more.

If you need more box sets than that, we’ve got the Prophecy 5 Film Collection featuring the flashdance funbags of Jennifer Beals in The Prophecy II (1997), and the Halloween Triple Feature with bloodpumping nude scenes in Halloween 6 (1995) and Halloween: Resurrection (2002). Finally, there are the hypnotic hoots of Cibby Danyla as “Naked Lady” in the Blu-ray Collector's Edition of They Live (1988).

It's All Hallows Eve Eve, but it's just another week of French porn stars blowing guys in Afro wigs on DVD and Blu-ray: The lone tip of the hat to Halloween is Mia Farrow (or her body double)'s trick or teats in the Satanic classic Rosemary's Baby (1968), nude on Blu-ray. Also nude this week is the real-sex extravaganza Infidelity: Sex Stories 2 (2012), which features French femmes like Rebecca Lord SKINgaged in hardcore sex acts like that hummer we mentioned earlier.

Not nude but notable this week on DVD and Blu-ray, Salma Hayek steams up the screen as a stripper in Americano (2012), Kate Lang Johnson and Amelia Jackson-Gray turn electoral politics into erectoral politics in The Campaign (2012), and sexy pixie Zoe Kazan parades around in her skivvies in Ruby Sparks (2012).

Who needs a dance partner when you've got your left hand, your lucky tube sock, and two of the biggest nude releases of the year, brand new this week on DVD and Blu-ray? That's right, not only does Sarah SIlverman's full-frontal nude debut alongside Michelle Williams and Jennifer Podemski in Take This Waltz (2011) hit DVD and Blu-ray, so does Olivia Munn's highly SKINtiticpated topless debut in Magic Mike (2012).

If that's still not enough for ya, we've got the 30th Anniversary Edition of Blade Runner (1982) in a fancy Blu-ray boxed set, the sexy Canadian fantasy series Lost Girl on DVD and Blu-ray, and two very promising-sounding SKINternational titles, The Slut (2011) and Escape from Women's Prison (1978) on DVD.

We're really going places this week on DVD and Blu-ray: First, the Adam Sandler popularity train keeps on rolling, somehow, as That's My Boy (2012) hits DVD and Blu-ray. Eva Amurri Martino and Leighton Meester star, but the only nudity comes from "naked lady in car" Kristen Valinch. Speaking of locomotives, the Jamie Lee Curtis cult classic Terror Train (1980) hits Blu-ray this week with smokin' smokestacks from hot blonde Joy Boushel.

For the espresso-sipper in your life, this week Sophie Quinton does her best Marilyn Monroe impersonation in the quirky French comedy Nobody Else But You (2011), and the reigning King of Quirk, Wes Anderson, brings his newest (probably) non-nude opus, Moonrise Kingdom (2012), to DVD and Blu-ray.

Also nude on Blu-ray, the dearly departed Lina Romay is featured in her usual state of unshaven undress in the Jess Franco flicks Female Vampire (1973) and Exorcism (1974).

With this nude DVD release, WIP fans can enjoy all the incarcerated T&A in much better quality, as the video transfer on all three films is noticeably improved from previous releases. Fans will also be glad to know that Chained Heat is presented in its entirety for the first time since its theatrical run- a scene where Linda Blair has a run in with the evil John Vernon (aka Dean Wormer from Animal House) is restored for the first time on VHS or DVD. The Women in Prison Triple Feature also comes loaded with trailers, interviews with stars Stella Stevens and Sybil Danning, and video introductions by our own Mr. Skin, who rubs down the key SKINgredients to each film.

Things were looking pretty dismal for skin this week on DVD and Blu-ray, but then the SKINstant classics Hostel (2005) and Hostel: Part II (2007) swooped in on Blu-ray to save the day with a bevy of naked Euro babes (and Heather Matarazzo, aka "Weiner Dog", fully nude in Part II, if that's your thing). Other than that, your only choice for nudes this week is French fox Vahina Giocante topless alongside non-nude stars Jennifer Tilly and Paz de la Huerta in the ensemble rom-com 30 Beats (2012). And this week in non-nude blockbusters, Malin Akerman goes '80s crazy in Rock of Ages (2012) and Charlize Theron and Noomi Rapace are out of this world in the sci-fi head scratcher Prometheus (2012).

We love trailer compilations of vintage grindhouse sleaze (think 42nd Street Forever) here at Skin Central, so we're all fired up and ready to enlist in the Trailer War, a new feature-length compendium of the bizarre, the outrageous and the totally tasteless from the archives of Austin, TX's own American Genre Film Archive.

The AGFA is producing Trailer War in partnership with Drafthouse Films, who earlier this year brought us The FP (2012) and Klown (2010). And in case you're still unclear about what kind of mind-melting, spine-shattering, blood-boiling experience you're in for, we quote from the official press release:

"From the high flying, explosive metal mayhem of STUNT ROCK to THUNDER COPS’ disembodied flying head chaos, each 3 minute masterpiece is like a beckoning portal to another, more exciting dimension. It’s a crippling overdose of towering flames, mechanized destruction, lurking fear, poor sexual choices and spiritual devastation on an apocalyptic scale. You might want to have a cornea donor standing by just in case…because THIS IS GOING TO BURN!"

Following a theatrical tour in early December, Trailer War hits DVD and Blu-ray on December 18; the DVD/Blu-ray comes complete with an interview with filmmaker Joe Dante, a former trailer artiste for sleaze master Roger Corman whose Trailers from Hell site we've covered on this very blog.
