American Gangster (2007)—Blu-Ray

Director Ridley Scott's fact-based crime drama American Gangster tells the story of Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington), who maneuvers his way into becoming the top heroin importer in New York during the ’70s, and Detective Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe), an honest cop out to bring Lucas down. A savvy businessman, Frank wisely discourages his girls from wearing too much clothing while packing his product, resulting in an addictive array of bazooms, bunnage, and bush in the drug room. The French Connection this ain’t, but you can call us Gene Whack-man anyway. Gritty and epic at the same time, American Gangster spans years, traverses the globe, provides fascinating insight into the processes of criminal enterprises (and police obsession), and shines a glaring light on the Big Apple during its most rotten, wormy, hardcore period. Plus, KaDee Strickland busts out her big guns in bed with Crowe. American Gangster will make you a spankster.

Casino (1995)—Blu-Ray

The best part of having a job is complaining about what an ogre the boss is, but few career trajectories cross paths with employers as efficiently ruthless as the silent partners for whom the central mid-management functionary of Casino works. Mafia elders can be generous with their financial rewards to associates who perform at a high level, but one little mistake and your supervisor is placing a bomb under the front seat of your pastel Caddy coupe or breaking half your bones with aluminum ball bats and burying you out in some cornfield while you’re still half alive and completely conscious. But at least, holding a crucial position in a glamorous field such as the Las Vegas gaming industry, you have attracted a loyal and resourceful woman to stick by your side through thick and thin. Cripes! The bitch turns out to be a snitch-loving junkie! There’s just no way for a shady gambler to win, not when his every move and motive is being directed by the great chronicler of compromised moralists, Martin Scorsese.

The Don Is Dead (1973)—Blu-Ray

The gangster drama The Don Is Dead stars Robert Foster as Frankie, a mafia captain who is thrust into the leadership of his crime family after the sudden death of the Don. Featuring a cast that includes Vic Tayback, Sid Haig, Abe Vigoda, and Anthony Quinn, the film weaves a blood-soaked tapestry of violence, revenge, loyalty, betrayal, and ambition. And in some scenes deleted from the final cut, we get to see the naked knockers of Angel Tompkins. There’s a boffer you can’t refuse!

Eastern Promises (2007)—Blu-Ray

What do you get when you cross David Cronenberg and sex trafficking? Eastern Promises, that's what! The thriller stars super-hot Naomi Watts as a London midwife who realizes things aren't quite right with her most recent client. Though the baby lived, the Russian teener mother died during delivery, and Naomi reads the woman's diary in an attempt to determine who should have custody of the newborn bairn. But what she finds is more than a list of crushes: It leads her straight to a sex-trafficking ring. The first clue is a business card for a restaurant owned by Armin Mueller-Stahl, who offers to translate the journal for Naomi. A friendly-but-fishy fellow who's not what he seems, Armin finally fesses up that the diary is full of incriminating details about his son, Vincent Cassel, and his involvement with mob-connected White Russian Viggo Mortensen. Can Naomi save the baby from the churls of the underworld, or is it too late for the little bastard?

Jesus' Son (1999)

Dopers and their girlfriends do the darnedest things in Jesus’ Son. Adapted from a slim but potent volume of short stories by Denis Johnson, Jesus' Son is an often comic, inescapably tragic, and ultimately hopeful descent into the lowlife of the 1970s druggie scene. A quirky and charismatic Billy Crudup stars as Fuckhead, the film’s narrator and guide. Naturally mesmeric and charmingly quirky blonde Samantha Morton steals hearts and messes with minds as Fuckhead’s trim and tasty free-spirit girlfriend—her love for Fuckhead is only one aspect of doom that descends upon this sweet and snarly beauty from the flophouse next door.

Simon Says (2006)
STUDIO: Lions Gate
NUDE: Carrie Finklea (breasts)
Eccentric genius Crispin Glover stars in a dual role as twin brothers Simon and Stanley in the fright flick Simon Says. When Simon and Stanley come across a group of college buddies spending a weekend partying on the lake, the gruesome twosome decides to brutally murder the whole gang. Amidst all the splatter, we get some very brief skin from Carrie Finklea. Simon says, “Put more nudity in the sequel.”
