gwenk,
the prefix mc means son of in Irish and O means deaughter of in I.irish to indicate lineage. Mc Is Irish. Mac is the Scot version. All Scots are Irish in descent. In fact the word Scot is a Irish word meaning "Pirates" and DNA tests confirm common ancestry. Get your genealogical facts straight. Your thought that Scots were Slaves to the British is an insult to my ancestor William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, what the hell happened at BraddockBurn in 1310?
I say a bonnie lass is a bonnie lass and a nekid bonnie lass is better.
PS THE Irish prefix is O' like in O'Hara. But, like the Jews and the Polacks they largely Anglofied their names to get ahead easier in society.Believe it or not, there was a time when Irish where discriminated against. A change of name and accent easily solved that.
To Gwenk it seems to me that you have a problem with different heritages and cultures. You mentioned a thing about African Americans, Latinos and Asians then you went into a blast of Jewish people and Polish people in your 2 comments. Maybe I read them wrong but it seemed like a clear attack on them.
I didn't think that in this day and age of newfound white cultural heritage, there could still be WASPs who were so culturally insensitive towards ... each other!!!
The prefix Mc or Mac indicates SCOTTISH ancestry, and St. Patricks day is IRISH (largely Catholic, rebellious against England), while Scotland were (largely Protestant, and in general slavishly following England)
Glad to see you're not only doing that to African Americans, Latinos and Asians .... ;) :)

Also: Polish? It seems you have a problem with comprehensive reading....
