In the thriller Carnada (1980), sharks and gangsters circle when they smell blood. Set against the backdrop of the Mexican coast, Juan José Munguía’s film is an action-packed adventure picture involving gun-slinging heroes, sparkling diamonds, and deadly sharks. Of course every big-fish movie has got to include a token girl in danger (Remember Jaws [1975] hottie Susan Backlinie?), and Carnada gives us two. Latina bombshells Maria Montaño and Eleonora Vallone are radiant in a handful of revealing shots--definitely don’t miss Vallone’s underwater sex scene, in which a hungry shark is responsible for some terrifying coitus interruptus.
