I agree Matthew. No actress should be allowed to have a no nudity clause in their contracts. Let the corrupt, greedy-minded politicians pass a law prohibiting actresses from keeping their clothes on in movies and TV. If women can walk around half nude in streets all over America and on nude beaches in other parts of the world, then they should be barred from wearing clothes on film/TV sets.
I wish more American actresses would take their cue from their European counterparts. Unfortunately US society is so puritan that even in one of the most liberal institutions in the country, nudity is seen as a bad thing. :(
It's not just that Xen, I think us Americans have become too callous and immoral over the years. We've become a strange species anymore. Such a weird human race we are.
Well when we live in a society that doesnt mind watching a mans head explode (Glory) or watch a young boy with his guts blown out (Saving Private Ryan) or the countless deaths caused by hero cops in firery explosions or apocolypse movies such as 2012 but get visibly upset about a nipple at the Super Bowl, it is time to reexamine who we are as a society and in what direction we want to move.
I don't want to move back to the Golden Age of cinema where showing a cow being milked was considered perverted and married couples slept in different beds. I think we need to move closer to our European friends.
Its a shame when stars such as Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Julia Roberts (etc.) like to pretend they are morally superior to others because they refuse to do a nude scene, but have no qualms in playing a scene where they kill somebody. When did sexuality become a greater sin than murder?
Murder will ALWAYS be a greater sin than anything in this crazy world. I don't even rank sexuality as being sinful, but to so many people, yes, it IS sinful, but why? We don't know and we never will.
It's not just people burning witches on stakes and not being tried for murder, it's others committing acts of violence and killing who don't get tried or burn in Hell for all of eternity, but if men look at naked women, people think we have issues that we need to deal with. They call US the sick ones. It don't make a bit of sense to me.
You've said it Xen. All of what you said is true and accurate. It does make us wonder why people in this society embrace violence so much, yet they say it's a bad influence on the world -- puts bad ideas in children and teens heads and such, but they sneer at nudity in film and TV and they say that's even WORSE than violence. It's one of the biggest mysteries of the world and something NOBODY will ever understand as long as humans roam the Earth.
And I thought this was supposed to be a happy New Year. With horrific news like this, how can it be? Well, we all know what HER resolution is for '10 -- no nudity for the rest of the year. What a bummer.
