Staff Picks: Disco Movies

Our Staff Picks column takes you back to a time when video stores reigned supreme and the "Staff Picks" section was the place to find out what films were worthy of one's time. Of course, our version of Staff Picks has a decidedly skintillating angle, as we suss out which films from a particular subgenre are the best to find great nudity. This week let's cover one of the absolute BEST years in moviemaking: disco movies.

Why disco? Disco was a fascinating period of time that brought people onto the dance floor in the late 70s. Since so many of the discotheques that people attended featured drugs, drinking, and scantily clad women it makes sense that films in the disco era would reflect those things.

There are sadly a lot of disco movies without nudity such as Thank God It's Friday Night, Disco Godfather,Staying Alive, The Apple, and more. These films, however, are especially titillating and will have you laying down some serious night moves.

Can't stop The Music

This 1980 film is a pseudo-documentary that focuses on The Village People. I know that it comes as a surprise to hear that there is female nudity in a film starring The Village People, but there is! These "working men" take a break from working all day to chill at the YMCA which is where we get a surprisingly heterosexual treat: Valerie Perrine topless in a hot tub! The boys goof around with Valerie who gets to show off her pair in the pool.

54

I had to include 54 because it is a 90s film that attempts to tell the story of the legendary Studio 54. Shockingly, 54 does not have nudity in it. That being said, Salma Hayek stars and gives a cleavage-forward performance that will tickle your disco balls.

Nocturna

This unusual 70s flick came to my attention only recently, but it certainly counts as a "disco movie". Disco plays a major motivating force in the plot of this vampire film as the granddaughter of Dracula leaves Transylvania to pursue a disco dancer in New York City. There are several disco dancing scenes in the film - as well as nude scenes that show off the leading lady Nai Bonet and her suck sacks. You will definitely want to take a bite out of her!

Saturday Night Fever

Another disco classic without nudity in it! That being said, this film is too much of a classic not to include. This is pretty much considered THE disco drama which stars a young John Travolta as a disco dancing star. His love interest, Karen Lynn Gorney, dances at the ballet barre - no, not the alcoholic kind - and has impressive pokies in her skintight leotard.

The Bitch

Joan Collins stars in this 1979 flick which is shockingly a film adaptation of a book that Joan's sister Jackie wrote. This film stars Joan as a Londoner who marries a wealthy man. She thus spends her time going to the club and dancing to disco all night long, mostly with the young man she hires to help run the club that she buys. That doesn't turn out well for this young lady! Luckily, she makes it all easier on us by going nude a lot.

She's not the only one! Sue Lloyd and Pamela Salem both go nude as well. I especially love watching Sue Lloyd's wet and wild body get pulled out of a pool to show her TA.

Watch Joan undress here. She's one beautiful bitch!
