The Craft: Legacy (2020) reawakens the witches on the TV with this televised reboot of the original film The Craft. this CW series is a lot tamer than the movie that it is based on and it is sadly devoid of the twisted, goth witchery from Fairuza Balk and her coven. In this TV version, friendship is more of the focus as four high school students explore their identities as witches and form a coven. Here the coven is much more about friendship than asserting power and ruining people's lives like it was in the original movie from the 90s. Oh well. That film is a classic and this series is a fun homage that takes the positives of witchcraft and friendship and turns it into something very entertaining. Zoe Lister-Jones wrote and directed this series that stars Gideon Adlon (daughter of the one and only Pamela!), Zoey Luna, Lovie Simone, and Cailee Spaeny. Cailee Spaeny plays Lily who gets out of a shower in one scene and wraps a towel around her petite body to show off her slim shoulders and sleek neck. In another scene, her friends draw a pentagram on her forehead in white - an invitation for white magic which is positive! - and then encourage her to get into a milky bath that is filled with beautiful and colorful flowers. She gets into the water, only showing us her legs and her shoulders and then dives in as the girls encourage her. Go on, witches, dive in!
