I guess being homeless is not really as bad is it seems, huh? I mean, if these sexy chicks can hit the big time after living in the streets for years, imagine what it could do for the rest of us.
Shania Twain
. . . Stripped for cash.????!!!!!!

Is this a real story??

@Meshary5:

They don't mean literally, I don't think Meshary.

@Christopher Kowalsky Sr.:

It was just a figure of speech, a play on "strapped for cash." Sadly, I don' think she was ever a stripper.
Christopher Kowalsky Sr. @ 8:22PM on October 20, 2009

@Count Rackula:

That doesn't mean it's too late to still play a stripper in a movie or two. If every other singer can make the leap over into movies, then why not Shania Twain?

What I don't understand is, couldn't they just have sold their naked bodies for cash and keep a roof over their heads? I mean, five of these women have sold their naked bodies in movies already and we pay to see 'em, so what was wrong with doing it then?

@Christopher Kowalsky Sr.:

There's two points: they might got to be prostitutes to do so, and either way they might not get enough money for a roof over heads.

@jarze:

Maybe true jarze, but I know I'd sure as hell pay every single dollar I have to make it with Berry, Swank, McGowan, Kilcher, Lords, Twain and Clarkson.
Ok list except Lil Kim has never been the one I like and Debbie Reynolds seems to be a legend that I'm not familiar with.
Christopher Kowalsky Sr. @ 4:58PM on October 23, 2009

@jarze:

Wow jarze! Debbie Reynolds goes way back when -- as far back as the '50s, maybe as late as the '40s. Surely you've heard of "Singin' in the Rain," maybe "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," perhaps "Mother." If you haven't that's okay, not too many people probably have, except for the former, of course. It's only the greatest musical ever made. Elizabeth Taylor even stole her husband Eddie Fisher away from her around the '50s or '60s.

@Christopher Kowalsky Sr.:

Yeah, I've heard about Singin' in the Rain, that's how I realized she must be some kind of legend. It was mentioned in her description on the list.
Probably you haven't seen those things happening by yourself, so must have read those somewhere. Ellen Burstyn and Elizabeth Taylor are of same age than Debbie Reynolds, but Taylor is much more famous and Burstyn has been active 'til recent years.

@jarze:

Well, of course I haven't been around to see those turning events happen before my very eyes. I was born at the start of the fabulous '80s (1980 to be exact), but like so many other self-confessed film snobs, I gained that knowledge as the years went on. I've followed Liz Taylor's films (and her personal and private life only slightly) as I was growing up and became quite fond of 'em through the years.

@Christopher Kowalsky Sr.:

You are quite young for a Sr. :D
Christopher Kowalsky Sr. @ 1:38AM on October 26, 2009

@jarze:

Thanks jarze. I feel like a young man again. Just kidding. I know I'm young. Actually, the senior part is added to my last name, because my son happens to be a junior, so I use senior when I'm signing checks, writing my name, filling out forms, etc. It helps people differentiate between the two of us, although I prefer to be called Chris and him Christopher.
