Nude Stars sell tickets if the Movie is a good movie. When every review in the country pans a film because it is apparent the stars don't have any chemistry the nudity
only underlines the lack of chemistry. Good movies with good chemistry sells tickets.
"The boys stayed away in droves" over "Jennifer's Body" because they knew from sites like MrSkin.com that the overhyped tattooed diva wasn't going to show anything at all.

Blaming the Internet for overall poor box office results is like blaming the sinking of the Titanic on the position of the deck chairs.
I kinda prefer to watch nude scenes, ya know, in private...
It would be more correct to say the Hollywood movies starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway combined with a large advertising campaign don't sell. It's always been a myth that these so-called A-listers sell movies to the public. Simply not the case. Large ad campaigns combined with movies people are interested in sell tickets.

The author is also wrong in stating that Anne Hathaway had a much hyped nude scene. In the US (and probably the UK), you will not find one single ad that lets viewers know Hathaway has any nudity. Some discussion on the internet does not constitute anywhere near the hype that a constant barrage of tv commercials do.

The only movies in the US that continually get people to movie theaters nowadays are children's movies. If the theaters want others to buy tickets they'll have to change their image. More people watch things at home now on dvd than go to the theater.
