She's halfway to becoming a cartoon character herself, so it was only appropriate that Katy Perry would voice Smurfette in the new live-action/animation hybrid The Smurfs, which hits theaters this weekend.

While the movie doesn't answer the age-old question "Is Smurfette the only female Smurf? If so, does that make her the town bicycle (you know, everybody's had a ride)?", but we did get this smurfin' great panty peek from Katy, scantily dressed as always at the film's premiere.

Katy might be relegated to struttin' her stuff at film premieres, but she's far from the first sexy star to bring, ahem, adult appeal to a cartoon-inspired family flick. Dads need to have something to look at when they accompany the kiddies to the movies, right?

1984 really was a brave nude world: in a nude move that would be all but impossible today, the PG-rated family film Splash splashed into theaters, complete with Daryl Hannah's bare boobs and bum. 1984 was also the year that The Woman in Red received a PG-13 rating, despite a flash of full frontal nudity (and nearly two minutes of boobies) from fantasy female Kelly LeBrock.

It's cool to be green these days, with everyone from Barbra Streisand to Paris Hilton jumping on the (low-emissions) green bandwagon. But Mr. Skin's favorite celebrity environmentalists walk the walk as well as talk the talk, devoting themselves to green energy, animal welfare, and environmental protection causes with a level of commitment that most celebrities only apply to shoe shopping and self-tanning.

Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan proved to be a surprise hit in 1984, by putting an unusual spin on the familiar tale of a Caucasian baby who gets lost in the jungle, is raised by local animals, and grows up to be a noble savage with incredible strength, cunning, and bravery.

A few months later, another film mined the same material, but it flipped genders and seemingly took skinspiration from Bo Derek’s Tarzan the Ape Man, as well.

The result was Sheena, which starred a naked Tanya Roberts and, T&A-mazingly, was rated PG.

Sheena opened 24 years ago on this date and, yes, those were the times.
