As We Count Down to the 81st Annual Academy Awards on February 22nd, Mr Skin Pays Tribute to the Twenty Actresses Who Took Home Oscar Gold for Films in Which They Flashed Flesh

While retro stunner Julie Christie's debut(t) nude scene in Darling won't go down as the best bod baring of her career, it did offer a nice shot of her rear. And for that she got a nod from the Academy for Best Actress in a Leading Role, making Julie the first woman to earn an Oscar for a nude perv-formance. Fitting, then, that the movie centers on Julie as a fashion model who sleeps her way to the top. And Mr Skin definitely appreciates that she took off her top in the process!

Julie was nominated for Best Actress three more times in her career but never captured the gold again. Is it a coincidence that all three of those performances were non-nude? Maybe Julie should have learned a lesson from Darling and gotten the Academy's full attention with a little full frontal in those roles!

Entertainment Weekly has compiled a list of the Ten Sexiest Movies Ever. Shockingly, half of the movies don’t have nudity, which would rule them out of any top ten list ever posted to MrSkin.com.

Still, there are movies here that are definitely worth fast forwarding to the good parts.

They list in the surreal 1973 thriller Don’t Look Now, featuring a full frontal bathtub scene with Julie Christie, the NC-17 Mexican drama Y tu mama tambien with Maribel Verdú, and one of Mr. Skin’s favorite movies, Body Heat with Kathleen Turner.

Utah-born movie-maker Hal Ashby, who ranked high among the giants of 1970s Hollywood who reveled in their new freedoms to depict sex and nudity, was born on this date in 1929.

Although Ashby died from cancer in 1988, the classic films he helmed have only improved with age, and they live on as each new generation discovers the power of his one-of-a-kind talent.
