Skin Scouts Scout Skin.

For the last two weeks, we’ve been bringing you reports from our Skin Scouts at the CIFF and today will be no exception.

On the agenda for today are three of our favorite things: skingoria, shower scenes, and girls’ locker rooms.

In the Mexican crime thriller Backyard, there’s skingoria galore-ia! Not only do we get to see tons of uncredited actresses totally naked (and usually dead), we also get to see Adriana Paz’s bare butt and Asur Sagada’s vadge.

Meanwhile, the acclaimed German film Berlin ’36 has some anonymous locker room butts and Julie Engelbrecht’s naked right knocker 29 minutes in.

Is that a Berlin 36D?

And That’s a Good Thing

All the skin fans who have been waiting to sling their webs to the sight of Spider-Man babe Kirsten Dunst nude have just been given a ray of hope.

According to one of the readers of the Upcoming Nude Scenes blog, who reports having gone to a screener last night, Kirsten’s upcoming film All Good Things contains a good ten-second shot of her bare breasts in the shower.

So far, the only thing Kirsten has given us is a couple of very brief accidental skin flashes in Crazy/Beautiful and Marie Antoinette, so this would be a real coup.

Count Rackula Reviews Two Horror Classics

Greetings, my friends, and welcome back to Castle Rackula. This week I am very excited to be talking about two of the most important horror movies of the early 1980s, now available for the first time in deluxe edition DVD from the good people at Grindhouse Releasing.

The first is Lucio Fulci’s legendary 1981 Gothic gore-fest The Beyond, or as my friend Bob Guccione would say, L'aldila ; the second in Juan Piquer Simon’s 1982 skin-filled cult classic Pieces, or Mil gritos tiene la noche if you’re Francisco Franco.

Number 13: Sissy Spacek

In the course of an acclaimed career spanning four decades and 60 films, naturally blonde Texan thespian Sissy Spacek has starred in just two horror movies. One is the unremarkable 2005 spooker An American Haunting. The other, from 1976, is the one that forever burned Sissy’s place in the pantheon of Scream Queens: Carrie.

Adapted from Stephen King’s debut novel by crackpot auteur Brian DePalma, Carrie chronicles Sissy in the title role as the hapless high-school victim of persecution from the cool kids at school, and a religious-freak mother (Piper Laurie) at home.

Unbeknownst to her tormentors, Carrie boasts telekinetic powers which, after a wicked prank involving pig’s blood, make for a prom night massacre to remember.

As noted in Knocked Up, Carrie is skinstantly remarkable for featuring nudity in its very opening credits.

Sissy Spacek’s “dirty pillows” are fabulously buoyant and pink-nippled, and we even see her fluffy muff as she freaks out over her first period in a locker room full of naked teens.

For that, and for the sexy way she wipes out the whole school with her mind during Carrie’s climax, Sissy Spacek will forever be hailed as one of horror’s most skincandescent honeys.

Number 14: Brinke Stevens

Brinke Stevens debuted nude in the feminist-created Slumber Party Massacre (1982) and, 29 naked film appearances later, unveiled her frighteningly sexy bare body mo(i)st recently in Zombiegeddon (2003).

San Diego-born Brinke has actually turned up (and on) in 119 (1) movies to date, with her first being the whacked-out, Bert I. Gordon-produced black-magic freak-fest Necromancy (1972), starring Orson Welles!

Now that is a body of work for a Scream Queen.

On top(less) of those skin-pressive, just consider exactly which movies showcase Brinke in the buff. Among them are: Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity, Nightmare Sisters, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama, The Jigsaw Murders, Phantom of the Mall: Eric’s Revenge, Haunting Fear, Scream Queen Hot Tub Party, Teenage Exorcist, and Demon Lust.

Number 31: Janet Leigh

In the annals of fright films, there is a time before Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960), and there’s all the scary stuff that came in its hacking, bleeding, cross-dressing, corpse-keeping aftermath.

Janet Leigh, as blonde schemer Marion Crane, is as much a key element of Psycho’s classic status as Anthony Perkins in the role of Mama’s Boy anti-hero Norman Bates and the Master of Suspense himself.

Without Janet’s hair-raising howls and daring bare body shots (click the pic to see her nude), there would be no Psycho shower scene, and without that shower scene the world be a much less frightening -- and sexy -- place.

So here’s to you, Naked Scream Queen #31 Janet Leigh. Thanks for scaring us stiff and right into the shower for nearly half-a-century. And thank you, too, for your very lovely daughter (more on her coming up...).
