"I'm not prudish about nudity,” infrequently naked Natalie Portman recently told Elle UK. “I think it's beautiful in films, and sex is such a big part of life.”
So far, it’s hard to disagree with Natalie, except for the part about her not being prudish. One good nude scene in Hotel Chevalier, a nip slip (as a stripper!) in Closer, and the use of a stunt butt in Goya’s Ghosts doesn’t exactly make you Monica Bellucci, honey.
But then Natalie went on to make some seriously disturbing pronouncements.
Among the things Natalie (real last name “Hershlag”) won’t be doing on screen anymore are playing Jews, playing someone’s girlfriend, playing a woman who “has to have a job in fashion so that she can have nice clothes,” playing a woman who is or wants to be married, or—finally and most devastatingly—taking off her clothes.
Is she conspiring with Michelle Rodriguez to deprive the world of naked ethnic babes?
No word yet on how this will affect her upcoming lesbian scene with Mila Kunis in Black Swan.
Natalie doesn’t want to bank on her looks to the detriment of her acting skills, explaining, "You look at Meryl Streep, who is so phenomenally, freakishly gorgeous, and, in some ways, it's just bizarre that she was never a sex symbol.”
Someone never saw Silkwood, where Meryl played Cher’s radioactive lesbian lover and got naked in a decontamination shower!
"I just don't want to do something that will end up as a screen grab on a porn site,” she complained.

I'm not a 'pedestal' kind of guy who will never watch her again but in this day and age people EVERYWHERE, famous or not needs to think and proofread their thoughts before they say or type them, 'cuz then its there FOREVER. Its not even that hard to find your own hypocritical statements, OTHER PEOPLE WILL FIND THEM FOR YOU AND POST THEM HERE!

Oh, I know all about the "countless others" who hide in the background, sneering and jeering over my online behavior. They're the unseen voices who probably speak for many more just like you. There's no doubt in my mind that their words speak volumes as well. Whenever they or you feel the need to speak out and express your distaste over me and my comments, please feel free to do so. Don't let me keep you from doing it. I have no control over who can say what they want, whenever they want. I also have no uncontrollable urges of keeping people away from this very web site and this blog. You can have your say, they can have their say and I can have my say also.
As far as my "useless diatribes" are concerned, they're not meant to teach you anything or help you to learn more than what you possibly already know. I do it for MYSELF and maybe for those who WANT to hear what I have to say. If not, then that's fine by me. After all is said and done though, you won't find me with a shattered ego.
Basically, a lot of female actresses have a tendency to take these moral stances against doing nudity in films, until they get offered a role that requires nudity that looks like it could be a really big hit or Oscar worthy.. Or in the case of Halle Berry, someone offers you $500k, which is comical, because I am sure with her successful career and the fact that she was also married to a big name baseball player, she didn't need that $500k, it just gave her an excuse. And once she showed us what she had, and heard all the feedback about how amazing she looked, she was a little more willing thereafter.
Natalie Portman will do nudity. She is young and idealistic. At some point, she'll do what Marissa Tomei has done recently. She'll realise that you have only so many years to be smoking hot, and she'll get the desire to have some serious legacy of how hot she was in her prime. Happens to a lot of actresses.
