Ah my friends, welcome back to Castle Rackula. I wasn’t expecting you this early!

You’ve caught me watching one of my old favorites, Dracula Exotica with Vanessa del Rio and my dear friend Randy West. But that actually brings me to the point of this week’s visit.

When I was a young boy in pre-Christian Mamsylvania, my friends and I used to steal the erotic etchings of Messalina getting gang-banged by the senate that the Roman soldiers carried and hide them under our straw mattresses to look at by candlelight when everyone else was asleep.

Incidentally, the real Messalina was never as hot as Anneka Di Lorenzo (AKA Marjorie Lee Thoreson) was in Caligula. But then, the real Messalina would never have sued Bob Guccione for sexual harassment.

Pornography has come a long way since the days of the Roman Empire. And today’s porn stars, while they may not have the political pull that Messalina did, do have more star power.

And sometimes they use that star power to make the jump from creamed teens to scream queens. Here are few of my favorites.

The funky film noir 52 Pick-Up boasts two impeccably classy leads (Roy Scheider and Ann-Margret), an A-list director of some of cinema’s greatest thrillers (John Frankenheimer), and it was adapted from the work of one of the most respected modern crime novelists (Elmore Leonard).

Fortunately, 52 Pick-Up transcends its high-brow pedigree to rule as one of Hollywood’s all-time sleaziest big budget undertakings. For that, we love it, and it was on this date in 1986 that 52 Pick-Up first brought its dirty dealings to the big screen.

52 Pick-Up is loaded with real-life porn stars (including Amber Lynn, who gets naked) and contains top-tier toplessness from young Kelly Preston who’s tied up and tortured, and Prince protégé Vanity as a peep show worker posing for Polaroids.

Famed Star and Director Dies of Heart Failure

With the porn industry still mourning the loss of Gerard Damiano, the news broke yesterday that another legend had passed on: star and director Buck Adams, who died form complications for heart failure Tuesday afternoon Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Los Angeles, with his daughter Christa, sister and fellow adult star Amber Lynn and his close friend Harold Jenkins in attendance.

Born Charles S. Allen, Buck started as a porn actor in 1984, following in the footsteps of his sister, with whom he appeared in dozens of films, including Amberella (1986) and Looking for Mr. Goodsex (1985).

Buck and Amber never revealed that they were bother and sister until a casting director tried to pair them in a scene.
