Four out of Five Academy Award Nominees for Achievement in Costume Design Didn't Fully Clothe Their Actresses

Oscar nods for costume design usually go to elaborate period pieces that employ devices such as corsets and hoop skirts to completely cover their actresses. And this year's nominees are no exception—expect for the completely covered part.

This year's nominees let copious flesh fly beneath their period-appropriate garb. See you got the honors after the cut.

Kate Winslet and Anna Paquin Bring Home Awards for Showing off Their Trophies at 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards

Last night's Golden Globe awards didn't honor the astonishing array of golden globes that have made their way to the big and small screens over the past year—with two very worthy exceptions. The skinless Slumdog Millionaire taking home the most statues of the night on the movie side, and for television the big winner was John Adams, which did at least offer up Sarah Polley's right cracker.

But while reliably nude pay-cable hits like Californication, Weeds, and Entourage came up empty handed, a pair of the best nude scenes of the past twelve months were somewhat surprisingly honored. Former child star Anna Paquin won for her role as a vampire lover who repeatedly bares her chest fangs on True Blood.

But the big winner of the night was definitely Kate Winslet. The master thespian's name shows up in the list of nominees every couple of years, but until last night the oft-nude actress had never taken home the trophy. Kate was honored twice last night, winning Best Supporting Actress for The Reader and Best Actress Drama for Revolutionary Road. Kate's unbelievable nudity in The Reader—which is easily one of the best barings of her career—obviously helped her bring home the gold, even with Marisa Tomei's equally impressive nudity in The Wrestler as her closest stiff(nipped) competition. As for Revolutionary Road, where Kate kept covered, Mr Skin can't explain it. Good acting, maybe?

Golden Globes Nominees Announced; Many Nominudes Get Recognized

This morning saw the announcement of the nominees for this year's Golden Globes, and a few of Mr Skin's favorites made the cut, including Marisa Tomei and Kate Winslet, whose nude turns this year just missed the cut-off for landing on Mr Skin's list of the Top 20 Celebrity Nude Scenes of 2008. It's nice to see these nude ladies getting the credit they so hardily deserve!

American Beauty Director Wears the Cuckold’s Horns

IMDB reports that Sam Mendes, director of the upcoming Revolutionary Road, encouraged his wife, Mr Skin Hall of Famer Kate Winslet, to make her sex scenes with co-star and Tigerbeat centerfold Leonardo DiCaprio more explicit and much, much hotter than they are in the script.

"Initially I was very worried it would be difficult to concentrate (on the sex). But Leo was fine with it, which relaxed me,” recounts Kate.

“And I never sensed Sam feeling awkward. Quite the opposite,” she continues, “He'd yell from the other room: 'Press your hand into her back more! And when you take her face, really grab it!'"
